Massage Benefits
|
An increasing number of
research studies show massage reduces heart rate, lowers blood
pressure, increases blood circulation and lymph flow, relaxes
muscles, improves range of motion, and increases endorphins
(enhancing medical treatment). Although therapeutic massage does not
increase muscle strength, it can stimulate weak, inactive muscles
and, thus, partially compensate for the lack of exercise and
inactivity resulting from illness or injury. It also can hasten and
lead to a more complete recovery from exercise or injury. |

Before Your Session

Please arrive at least 15 minutes in advance of your appointment. This will allow time
to check-in, relax and have some tea prior to the beginning of your service. The best
way to receive a massage is with the body completely unclothed. The therapist is sensitive
to the need for privacy and will keep your body draped at all times with a sheet, except
for the area being massaged. If this arrangement is not comfortable for you, you may
wear underwear or a swimsuit.
